A photographer and I went to set and isolated all the elements from Michael Scott's desk, Dwight's, Pam's, Jim's, and more, and shot them against a green screen. Michael's items could only be purchased by Branch Managers, while other items were more lucrative (and expensive) like Dwight's bobblehead and Pam's jellybean jar. Users would choose which character to play and a weapon. The various scenarios would then play out. We created an official campaign website where fans could get the latest campaign news, support Leslie by buying official Knope 2012 merchandise, and enter a poster contest where the winning design, chosen by the show producers, would feature in an episode. In order to reach as many fans as possible, the site was featured in on-air promo spots during the season. All content was written by the show's writing staff, and we used official photos and graphics from the show's Art Department to marry with our own design. The fans were then able to vote on which t-shirt they wanted the NBC Store to produce.
